I sat at my computer until 3 AM with my credit card in hand, trying to check out on a website. I had the essay in my cart, the discount code applied, and I just couldn't click 'Submit.' My heart was racing, I was sweating, and I felt like I was committing a felony.
It's just a 2-page reflection paper, but the anxiety was overwhelming. I ended up not buying it and writing a terrible draft myself. Why is the act of buying something online so terrifying when it's for school? Is it the fear of getting caught? The moral guilt?
I'm curious if anyone else gets this intense anxiety, or if I'm just built differently
