I finished my first draft and it's... not good. My roommate said "just use Grammarly" but the good version costs money. I have $12 until my next paycheck.
I heard from some upperclassmen that Cal State Fullerton has this online course called "Strategies for Successful College Writing" where you write an essay, do peer reviews with other students, and then revise it . They said it's free for enrolled students?? I looked on my school's website and couldn't find anything like that.
Does anyone know if my school has something similar? Like a writing center where real humans look at your paper and tell you what's wrong? My friend said the writing center at her school is free but you have to book weeks in advance. I need help NOW, not in three weeks.
Also, is it weird to ask someone in my class to swap papers? I don't know anyone yet. I'm literally the first person in my family to go to college so I can't ask my parents. They don't even know what a thesis statement is.
Please tell me there's somewhere I can get help without spending money I don't have.
